Grado Cartridges
Individually calibrated. Boron precision.

The Master3 sits at the top of Grado's Timbre series — a five-piece OTL cantilever with machined boron tip achieving an additional 5% tip mass reduction over the Sonata3, wound with ultra-high-purity long-crystal oxygen-free copper wire and individually calibrated at the Brooklyn workshop. The Australian jarrah wood housing undergoes an intricate curing process and is built with specialised materials reserved for Grado's finest Timbre cartridges. Available in high-output (4.0 mV) and low-output (1.0 mV) versions, as well as mono.
Five telescoped sections with machined boron tip — 5% lower tip mass than the Sonata3 for more accurate tracking and finer detail retrieval.
Each Master3 is individually measured and calibrated at the Brooklyn workshop — no two are identical, each is optimised for peak performance.
Ultra-high-purity long-crystal OFC wire with a two-step shielding process for an unobstructed signal path and exact coil unison.
Australian jarrah wood with an intricate curing process and specialised materials — dampening resonances while presenting precise harmonic tones.
A design no other manufacturer matches.
While most cartridges use moving magnets or moving coils, Grado's moving iron design moves a tiny iron element through a fixed magnetic and coil assembly. This produces a generator with very low moving mass — for fast transient response — combined with a high output voltage that drives any phono stage with ease. The result is a warm, detailed, and dynamically alive presentation.
