The Gold3 is the flagship of Grado's Prestige series — hand-selected from Silver3 production runs that meet higher test specifications. Only approximately 5% of the run exhibits the performance characteristics required to become a Gold3. A four-piece OTL cantilever with elliptical diamond on brass bushing, twin-magnet Flux-Bridger generator with reconfigured coils (17% lower effective moving mass than previous generations), and 5 mV output make it a remarkable performer at its price. Each Gold3 is tested for frequency response, channel balance, phase linearity, inductance, and resistance before leaving Brooklyn.

Moving Iron Generator
A design no other manufacturer matches.
While most cartridges use moving magnets or moving coils, Grado's moving iron design moves a tiny iron element through a fixed magnetic and coil assembly. This produces a generator with very low moving mass — for fast transient response — combined with a high output voltage that drives any phono stage with ease. The result is a warm, detailed, and dynamically alive presentation.
