Legendary sound, legendary craft.
Since 1926, Tannoy has been synonymous with high-quality sound reproduction. Famous for their Dual Concentric driver technology, Tannoy loudspeakers deliver point-source accuracy with effortless musicality.
Founded in London in 1926, Tannoy has spent a century pursuing the purest loudspeaker ideal: a single acoustic source with perfect time coherence. Their Dual Concentric driver — the world's first commercial coaxial driver, invented in 1947 — places the tweeter acoustically at the centre of the bass/midrange cone, creating a true point source that no multi-driver design can match.
The innovations that make Tannoy products extraordinary.
One source. Perfect coherence.
First introduced in 1947, Tannoy's Dual Concentric driver places a high-frequency unit acoustically at the centre of the bass/midrange cone. The result is a true point source — one that produces perfect time and phase alignment across all frequencies, delivering a natural, three-dimensional soundstage with a remarkably wide sweet spot that conventional multi-way speakers cannot replicate.

The gold standard in high-frequency dispersion.
Reserved for Tannoy's finest loudspeakers, the PepperPot WaveGuide is a precision-machined reverse-throat horn driven by the same Alcomax Alnico magnet as the bass driver — a true single-magnet, dual-air-gap design. Its 4:1 compression ratio, combined with the conductive Alnico motor forming a shorted turn around the voice coil, delivers exceptional transient response, vanishingly low distortion, and the sweet, natural musicality that has defined the Prestige sound for decades.
Precision dispersion control.
The Tulip WaveGuide acts as a phase plug controlling the propagation and dispersion of the high-frequency driver, integrating it seamlessly with the bass/midrange cone across the crossover region. Using a dedicated neodymium magnet circuit, it exposes the entire diaphragm to the horn with a 1:1 ratio — no compression — ensuring the Dual Concentric maintains its point-source characteristic across a wide listening area.
The musician's magnet.
Alcomax III is a high-energy Alnico magnet grade — an iron/nickel alloy doped with cobalt, aluminium, and rare metals — revered across the music industry for its musicality and dynamics. Its exceptional field strength and electrical conductivity form a shorted turn around the voice coils, nullifying non-linear eddy current effects and delivering a sweet, coherent sound with the ability to resolve the finest low-level textures in the music.
Molecular refinement for wire and drivers.
Tannoy subjects entire crossover assemblies, internal wiring, and critical components to Deep Cryogenic Treatment — cooling to -196°C to relieve mechanical stress in metals at a molecular level. Developed for the Kingdom Royal project and now standard across the Prestige range, the result is a measurable reduction in distortion and a refined, more natural sound.
Resonance-free cabinet construction.
Tannoy's DMT cabinet technology uses high-density ply-based laminates made from a combination of materials with different acoustic properties. By pairing layers of differing resonant characteristics, DMT produces extremely rigid enclosures that dissipate energy uniformly rather than storing it — eliminating cabinet coloration and letting the Dual Concentric driver speak with absolute clarity.
