Linn Loudspeakers
Reference performance, in a compact form.

343 is Linn's compact reference loudspeaker, and the first designed around Pistonik from the very start. An 8-inch down-firing Pistonik woofer sits close to the floor, using it as a boundary to spread bass evenly into the room, with a 6-inch Pistonik upper bass unit above — together they carry around 70% of the speaker's acoustic workload. The cabinet is moulded from a glass-fibre-reinforced compound rather than wood, so its walls can be thinner yet stiffer, and its continuous curves leave no hard edges to diffract the sound. It comes in two versions: Exakt Integrated, with a Utopik power supply, Exakt digital crossover, Power DAC architecture, Organik DACs and Adaptive Bias Control amplification in a module on the back; and Passive with Active Bass (PWAB), which keeps the actively driven Pistonik bass and runs the upper bass, midrange and tweeter from your own amplifier.
The first Linn loudspeaker built around Pistonik from the outset — cabinet, bass architecture, drive units and electronics were developed together.
The 8-inch woofer fires into the floor, using it as a reflective boundary to spread bass energy evenly through the room.
A glass-fibre-reinforced moulding compound gives thinner, stiffer walls and more internal volume, in a continuous form with no hard edges to cause diffraction.
The rear module sits on a three-point spring mount, decoupled from the cabinet, and is cooled passively by a finned aluminium heat sink that vents through the top — no fans.
