Tannoy Prestige Series
Commanding scale, effortless authority.

The Canterbury Gold Reference houses Tannoy's 15-inch Alcomax III Dual Concentric driver in a 235-litre dual variable distributed-port cabinet — the same driver technology as the Westminster in a more practical form factor. The PepperPot WaveGuide with its 52 mm aluminium-magnesium dome delivers 96 dB sensitivity and response from 28 Hz to 27 kHz. A hand-wired, Deep Cryogenically Treated crossover at 1.1 kHz with HF shelving adjustment allows fine-tuning to your room and amplifier. Oiled walnut veneer with hand-selected burr walnut inlays and gold-anodised machined metal trim.
Alcomax III Alnico motor with PepperPot WaveGuide and 52 mm aluminium-magnesium dome — 96 dB sensitivity from a true point source.
Birch plywood construction with oiled walnut veneer, burr walnut inlays, and gold-anodised machined metal trim — extensively braced for zero coloration.
Hand-wired at 1.1 kHz with ±3 dB shelving and slope adjustment — ClarityCap capacitors and silver-plated cable, Deep Cryogenically Treated.
Dual distributed ports allow low-frequency tuning to match your room for optimal bass control and extension.
One source. Perfect coherence.
First introduced in 1947, Tannoy's Dual Concentric driver places a high-frequency unit acoustically at the centre of the bass/midrange cone. The result is a true point source — one that produces perfect time and phase alignment across all frequencies, delivering a natural, three-dimensional soundstage with a remarkably wide sweet spot that conventional multi-way speakers cannot replicate.
The gold standard in high-frequency dispersion.
Reserved for Tannoy's finest loudspeakers, the PepperPot WaveGuide is a precision-machined reverse-throat horn driven by the same Alcomax Alnico magnet as the bass driver — a true single-magnet, dual-air-gap design. Its 4:1 compression ratio, combined with the conductive Alnico motor forming a shorted turn around the voice coil, delivers exceptional transient response, vanishingly low distortion, and the sweet, natural musicality that has defined the Prestige sound for decades.
The musician's magnet.
Alcomax III is a high-energy Alnico magnet grade — an iron/nickel alloy doped with cobalt, aluminium, and rare metals — revered across the music industry for its musicality and dynamics. Its exceptional field strength and electrical conductivity form a shorted turn around the voice coils, nullifying non-linear eddy current effects and delivering a sweet, coherent sound with the ability to resolve the finest low-level textures in the music.
Molecular refinement for wire and drivers.
Tannoy subjects entire crossover assemblies, internal wiring, and critical components to Deep Cryogenic Treatment — cooling to -196°C to relieve mechanical stress in metals at a molecular level. Developed for the Kingdom Royal project and now standard across the Prestige range, the result is a measurable reduction in distortion and a refined, more natural sound.
