Leak Loudspeakers
Where history meets high fidelity.

The Sandwich 250 is a three-way bass-reflex standmount loudspeaker that reimagines Leak's original 1961 Sandwich design for the modern listener. An 11-inch aluminium-foam sandwich bass driver, a 4.25-inch sandwich midrange and a 1.2-inch coated textile dome tweeter work together across crossover points at 470 Hz and 3.1 kHz. The cabinet features multi-layer construction with front-to-rear bracing and a real walnut veneer finish. Sensitivity of 88.5 dB and a 6-ohm nominal impedance make the Sandwich 250 an easy partner for amplifiers from 25 to 250 watts.
Aluminium skins bonded to a polymethacrylimide (PMI) foam core create a driver diaphragm that is simultaneously rigid and lightweight. This construction minimises breakup modes and delivers wide-bandwidth response with exceptionally low distortion.
Crossover points at 470 Hz and 3.1 kHz assign each driver a focused passband. The large bass driver handles the lowest three octaves, the midrange covers the critical vocal and instrument range, and the textile dome tweeter extends to 26 kHz.
Multi-layer cabinet walls with internal front-to-rear bracing control panel resonances and minimise colouration. The result is a tight, controlled bass and a clean midrange free of cabinet-induced artefacts.
